Vincent Lübeck (senior and junior): Complete Organ and Keyboard Works, vol. 1. Bärenreiter BA 8449
This is the first volume in a two-volume Urtext edition presenting all the organ and keyboard works of the two Lübecks. The main part of the volume is given over to the organ works, and demonstrates a composer who is clearly part of the lineage of both Buxtehude and Bach. The clavier music at the end of the volume is in a much more sprightly style, and consists mainly of variations, minuets and airs. This latter is house music, while the earlier compositions are clearly written for grand organ. As always, the editing and printing are of the very highest standards.
